About Me

I have been working in the field of Special Education for over 20 years, serving students and families in a variety of settings. I have coached parents, consulted in private schools with administrators and teachers, developed and led a special education program at a public Los Angeles Charter School, and advocated for students with special needs in IEP meetings. In 2016, I received a PhD in Special Education. The focus for my dissertation was the impact of inclusion in an informal educational setting.

After 20 years in the field, I am able to combine elements of different approaches and experiences into what I do. I have a background in parenting my own 3 children; in academic teaching and administration; in being a parent and an educator at the table; at private schools and public schools; and in Applied Behavior Analysis and Floortime. I am able to incorporate all of these experiences into my approach, which is different for every child and family.

My areas of expertise include behavior intervention, IEP development, interpretation of neuropsychological reports, special education law & advocacy, general and special education teacher support, and parenting guidance. My ability to speak Spanish fluently enables me to connect with Los Angeles’s Latinx population.
