My Philosophy
I truly believe that every child is doing the BEST they can in almost any given situation.

And kids need to know that we believe in them.
And that they are GOOD kids, even when they make poor choices or become overwhelmed by strong feelings. Once a child knows that we, their role models, believe that, there is tremendous potential for learning and growth.

This fundamental belief pervades everything I do as a special educator. It informs how I advocate for children at an IEP meeting, how I coach parents and teachers, and how I talk directly to kids.

I believe that honest conversations, realistic, consistent expectations, and the incorporation of visual strategies are essential in the lives of neurodiverse children and their parents, teachers, and other caretakers.
